Wallace Miller, a register sex offender, allegedly tapped the victim
on the shoulder to wake her up

Police in Florida have arrested a 64-year-old man for letting
himself into the apartment — and bed — of a woman living in the very
complex where he works.

Wallace Miller was working as a maintenance man at an apartment
building in Panama City.

According to police, he entered the home of a female resident on
Tuesday morning and climbed into her bed as she slept.

Miller allegedly tapped the woman on the shoulder to wake her up.

The startled woman recognized Miller from his working in the
building, and "attempted to defend herself," fighting him off.

Miller, who is a registered sex offender, allegedly fled the
apartment and the victim called 911. H was apprehended soon after
and charged with burglary and battery.

It was unclear if Miller had appeared before a judge to enter pleas
to the charges. Likewise, information on his attorney was
unavailable on Wednesday.
